The Carmelite Spirituality Center is a ministry of the Sisters of Mount Carmel. The center provides programs and space that allow individuals and groups to experience a transformation in prayer, community and justice. Jan. 26 -- Morning of Prayer One Tuesday of each month the center offers a different prayer form from the rich tradition of faith. March 5-7-- Lenten Retreat Come spend a weekend looking, appreciating and contemplating the wonders of God’s creation. Led by Sister Barbara Breaud. March 30-- The Pascal Mystery: Entering Into Holy Week with Jesus Sister Terry Falco will help us to enter more deeply into the Pascal Mystery--the heart of our faith and our hope. This is the first of two presentations, the second being on April 6.
The Center is open to people of all faiths who desire a serene meeting place for faith-focused gatherings and retreats, as well as the opportunity for groups to guide their own programs. Just 40 miles from New Orleans, on the Northshore, the Carmelite Spirituality Center offers a tranquil setting for individuals to leave behind everyday worries to "come aside and rest a while." Year-round flowers and star-filled night skies provide a serene setting for reflection, solitude, celebration and leisure helping to create a sense of community among those who visit.
